In 2017, a record-breaking 4.1 billion passengers traveled by airplane, an increase of 7.3% compared to the previous year, according to the International Air Transport Association. This staggering statistic is only expected to increase in the future due to the increasing ease of travel, as well as the trend towards mandatory business travel. As airports become increasingly crowded, they also become more and more difficult to navigate, especially for those with visual impairments or blindness.
