“Marvel's Hero Project is an upcoming documentary TV series by Marvel New Media for Disney+ to be streamed from November 12, 2019. This 20-episode series shares the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities across the country. These inspiring kids have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness, and now, Marvel celebrates them as the true Super Heroes they are by welcoming them into Marvel's Hero Project. “

In part two of this Blog, the VOC Team sat down with Adonis Watt to discuss his Episode releasing today.

  1. What does this project mean to you? It means that more people will know that I have been a triathlete. I have been playing football for ten years blind. I lost my eyesight at the age of five and gained a whole new vision for my life. Now people from across the world will see me running 5k’s, fundraising for the blind and vision impaired, and playing basketball. I have been top-ranked in wrestling tournaments as a young wrestler and I challenge my physicality working out with my Personal Trainer Marcus Vines-Bright on weekends.

  2. How do you think a project like this will impact the visually impaired community? This project will impact the visually impaired community in big ways. People think that blind people can’t do the things they can do and people will see that we can. And I hope that more people will be inspired from both sighted and blind communities to give their time and resources to their communities.

  3. What has been your favorite part of this experience? My favorite part of this experience was sharing it with our Brophy Football team and my Coaches. It was amazing and you will have to watch my episode to find out.

  4. How did you develop your “just do you” mantra? When I say “just do you” I’m telling people that they can find something they are passionate about and just do what they want in life. If people tell you that you can’t do what you want they are just telling you what they believe, it doesn’t mean you have to let what they believe stop you. Live with no limits.

  5. How do you balance school, football, your other extracurriculars, and serving as an advocate for the visually impaired community? I balance school, football, my other extracurriculars, and serving as an advocate for the visually impaired community with a plan. The teachers, staff, and coaches at both Brophy College Prep and Rio Salado Community College offer a lot of academic and administrative support to me. I just plan my days, my semesters and basically my year. And I just keep going.

  6. What is your secret? The secret is I just don’t do things that I don’t want to do. I’d rather be filmed working out, running the ball and working hard than sitting down talking about how I’m able to do the things that I do. I’m not a person that looks to be on camera. I can show you better than I can tell you. I feel like a normal teenager and I have a long way to go before I can sit back and start talking about how far I’ve come.

  7. What does the future hold? I’m going to continue training with my Personal Trainer Marc Vines-Bright year-round and in my future, I am gonna’ do good in High School and my goal is to get accepted to a Division 1 University and continue playing football.

  8. Any other exciting plans we should be prepared for? My plan is to keep working hard and get drafted into the NFL, win some rings and then maybe start a second career in broadcasting.
